TSM153 : A View of Two ET Worlds, Too Many Too Many and The Meaning of Peace

Be warned, the wind has ravaged me yet again on today's walk and I tell you what, it's really pissing me off ! I couldn't tell how the wind was with this recording until I returned home. I was tempted to scrap it but given how long it took, I decided to keep it. I'm afraid you'll just have to cope with the wind when it flares up, if you wish to listen to today's monologue.

In today's rambleathon I talk a little about the two ET worlds I've been taken to visit, the problem of what to do when there is too many living beings of one type type or another and the meaning of peace in our lives. I don't offer any solutions to the issues of species numbers and peace but urge you to consider how we actually are with these things and how each one of us may come to a place of finding solutions to these things.

TSM148 : The Joy of Walking

In this walky talky, I explore the notion that we can actually walk without distraction or the desire to label. I've been an avid walker for 37 years and it's my desire to encourage you to share in the joy of walking.

WARNING : Sony Walkman, Michael Jackson and Motley Crue make an appearance in this monologue !

TSM147 : You Are and Are Not Your Story

In this late night talk, I explore the idea of how our stories shape our identity. One of the great mistakes we humans make, is to mistake ourselves or misidentify ourselves with who we think we are. And who we think we are is either our stories or some transcendent jewel ! On the one hand you are not your story but on the other hand you are. More than each, you are both.

I was very tired when I made this monologue and unfortunately my battery died, while I talked for another 20 minutes unaware and got up close and personal with 3 possums who were having a fight ! So the monologue ends abruptly. But I think you'll understand where I was going.

TSM146 : The Relativity of Our Humanity

In this monologue I introduce the idea that there is a relativity to our humanity.

Many humans like to believe that we are more than human and that's all, while others argue that we are merely a living organism and nothing more. I argue that we are both transcendent and ordinary ! Some people try so hard to be more than human and forget their humanness - at great cost ! While others revel and suffer in their humanness, ignorant of other aspects of their being.

We humans also believe that we are separate and forget that we are defined by our relationship to each other and the natural world. We are in relationship with all of existence ! We become consumed and preoccupied by our roles and forget that they are created by relationships.

There are many people who didn't receive what they needed to feel like whole human beings. I ask if it's possible to reskill people in love and intimacy to create new bonds and attachments in groups of people who are bound by suffering.

TSM145 : The Cancer Personality

Last Thursday and Friday I had a follow-up visit to the hospital where I have my treatment and scans. On the Friday, with several hours of free time, I decided to make a commentary about the people I was observing and what I think of as The Cancer Personality. This is an idea I've been exploring for more than a decade and an observation that I may have made about my self once upon a time ! You may think I'm judgemental in my comments and that was certainly not my intention. Of course I know nothing about the suffering, resilience, hopes, desires or struggles of the people I observed. What follows is my observations as a writer and as a human being who has taken a similar, albeit different journey.

Distinctive personalities might be found in any number of acute and chronic illnesses. My guess is that certain constellations of physical, psychological and emotional traits and experiences, might one day be found to align well with certain illnesses.

TSM144 : Aloneness & Loneliness - Symptoms of the Human Condition

This monologue gets off to a bit of a rambling start with my venting about killer feral cats etc. but 13 mins in, things begin proper.

The issue of aloneness & loneliness is an issue that is close to my heart. In today's walk and talk I approach the issue of aloneness & loneliness by talking about my son's life (with his permission) and my own adolescence. I'm often amazed at how sometimes, our children mirror our own lives. What is aloneness & what is loneliness and how does our authentic self relate to the experience of loneliness ? Does loneliness only happen to introverts or are extroverts equally vulnerable, to this most painful symptom of the human condition ?

Loneliness is a universal experience. Today I ponder some potential solutions to loneliness and speculate as to whether whether or not loneliness plays a significant role in our lives.

TSM143 : The Shocking Reality of How Things Are & The Seasons of Life

Sometimes we try and turn away from the shocking reality of how things are. But how things are is how they are. Isness is a powerful ally !

In this walk and talk I explore how nature's seasons and the cycles of nature, parallel the seasons of our life and how we all face the same seasons of life, as part of the seasons of the human clock - from the cradle to the grave.

I offer a tour of the seasons here on this land and suggest how facing the shocking reality of all that nature brings, helps us to face the shocking reality of how things are in our own life. I suggest that the seasons of nature and of human life are necessary to create awareness and to help us grow. Life is both predictable and unpredictable and if we have courage, we can stay open to anything that life might throw at us.

TSM140 : Types of Rituals & How to Create Rituals

In this walk and talk, I contemplate the different types of rituals that fill human life and how we might create our own rituals to enrich our life.

TSM135 : What is the Self ? The 5 Aggregates and Process Fields

In today's walk and talk I explore the self through the Buddhist concept of the 5 Aggregates and Process Fields (my own idea, which is simlar to Alfred White Northhead's Process Philosophy) and ask how we are to live when we can embrace a wider concept of self.

During the early part of this walk, I examine two dead sheep - who provide a real life example of the nature of the self. Don't look if images of death frighten you. These things are a part of my day to day reality and reguarly remind me of the nature of the self.

TSM128 : Direct Knowing

I dedicate this monoluge to Frédéric for his ongoing support and his enthusiasm for taking responsibility for his own development and for his efforts to be a better father, partner and human being ! I also dedicate this monologue to Astrid for her ongoing kindness and her continuous efforts (despite her own illness) to help others living and dead, to be free of their suffering !

In today's stroll through the land, I explore the process that some have called Direct Knowing. There are several interpretations of this concept and in this monologue I explore what you might think of as a lower level form of DK, that I believe has greater value to us in our ordinary life. I provide you with working examples of how to develop DK through all the senses and then through the collective 5 senses.

Expect to hear lots of talkative sheep !

TSM121 : The Agony of the Human Condition - Part 3B : Recognizing and Honouring the Needs of the Daimon

I dedicate this monoluge to Frédéric for his ongoing support and to Mauren for her recent donation and for being a long time reader/listener ! Thank you both very much for reaching out to me and for making a difference and for showing your appreciation for what I have to share !

In today's monologue I pick up from where I left in TSM114, exploring the Daimon and how we can recognize and honour the needs of the Daimon for a healthy and fulfilled life. After listening to this recording, I realised that I didn't say enough about how to recognise the needs of the Daimon - so I might take that issue up in a future monologue. I might add as well, that I wonder if the Daimon has different needs at different times in the human life cycle.

For those of you who question whether or not a Daimon really exists as a distinct entity or aspect within us, I think that's a reasonable thing to have some doubt about. My thoughts are that as an alternative to the traditional view of the Daimon, we consider that the Daimon is as a driving force, a set of urges that arises from the way different processes that arise from the interaction of mind and body. Think of it as a unique force of it's own, that emerges from the interaction of mind and body. It may have a transcendant timless nature that exists beyond each individual life or be bound to each individual life. Perhps there are many possibilities. No one can prove or disprove the existance of the Daimon ! But each of us will know whether the idea resonates as true or false.

We might also consider that it's nothing more than an idea ! An idea with great power !

Enjoy !

TSM119 : Objects in the Rear View Mirror May Appear Closer Than They Are

We all struggle to live fully present in the moment. Many people are trapped with their memories and with the pain assoccertiated with them. Today I explore the impact of the past with a metaphor that Meat Loaf / Jim Steinman made famous and how we can overcome the things that haunt us or preoccupy us.

Enjoy folks !

PS. I havent heard the song in ages and after reading the lyrics tonight, I realised I misunderstood what a small part of the song was about. But the metaphor is still relevant and a powerful one at that. This is one of Meat Loaf's / Jim Steinman's most powerful songs from what may have been his best album (on par with Bat Out of Hell).

TSM118 : We’re All Waiting For Something

We're all waiting for something ? But what is waiting ? Why should we wait and when should we move  ? Waiting may well be the one great virtue we must all learn to master.

Enjoy !

TSM117 : What Does the Light (of God) Want From Us ?

I dedicate this monologue to Sandor for his seemingly endless support for yours truly ! Thanks buddy for caring from so far away ! May you discover the light within !

Many of you have heard me talk about my experience of being taken to merge with the light on an ET craft in 2011. In today's monologue I ask "What Does the Light Want From Us ?" and suggest an answer. An answer that coincides with what I believe we ought to want from ourselves.

Enjoy Dudes and Dudettes !

TSM115 : Connecting with the Dead (Communing Through the Veil)

I've tackled the subject of afterlife communication before (https://etandi.wordpress.com/2015/12/27/a-simple-method-for-meeting-the-dead/), so I thought I'd follow up with a basic introduction to the subject.

In today's monologue I introduce you to two methods for connecting with the dead (connecting with the deaaaaaaaaaaaaaadddddddddddddd !) - using internal hearing (a simple form of telepathy) and an internal space.

With these methods you will be able to establish clear contact with any person who wishes to speak to you from beyond the veil we call death.

You can learn more about the Internal Contact World Method here :

A couple of corrections are required for this monologue. Percy B. Shelley lived in the Pre-Victorian era (I think it was in the Edwardian era - King Edward). And during internal contact, strictly speaking you cannot maintain the Calm Abiding state but you can minimise internal noise (mental activity) and use Calm Abiding as a precursor to starting an internal world contact session.

More on Calm Abiding here :

Please note that Calm Abiding or any type of centered meditation that excludes all mental activity is not necessary for contacting the dead (or ETs) but it can be useful. Perhaps of greater use is the process of relaxation taught by Dr Ainslie Meares (one of my heroes) in his wonderful book Relief Without Drugs (page 90 something) https://www.amazon.com/Relief-without-drugs-Ainslie-Meares/dp/B0007FTOJQ / http://stillnessmeditation.com.au/dr-ainslie-meares/.

Enjoy !

TSM113 : The Agony of the Human Condition - Part 2 : The Left Hand Path

The human condition is a strange beast and one that we all try to understand at some point in our life. The human condition is a condition of existence that is constantly in flux, where one thing always leads to another. Sometimes we experience things that we see as good (positive) and sometimes we experience things that we see as bad (negative). If we had perfect awareness we would probably only choose good things and omit bad things. But that isn't reality ! (As Buddha said we are all addicted to like and dislike). How boring life would be if everything unfolded exactly as we wanted it to ! So what then are the implications of experiencing bad things and what does it mean when we experience 'the left hand path' (the path less desired) ?

TSM110 : The Good vs Bad ET Myth, Creation Stories and Explorations of the Soul

In this Christmas monologue set just after midnight, I explore the die hard Good vs Bad ET Myth and try to offer another reason why space faring ETs do not fall into good vs bad categorization. I reflect a little on the Creation Myths of indigenous people in relation to Sky, Earth and Sea. And finally talk a little about the relationship between geography and inner and outer explorations of the soul - highlighting ascending, descending and horizontal explorations. Consider this an introduction to the more detailed subject of Spiritual Development and Spiritual Development and ET Contact, that I will explore at a later date.
