Into today's walkalogue I talk about how we can use sound to anchor ourselves into the day, right from the beginning when we wake up and how we can use sound to fully engage with the present moment as we go through our day. This could have been a 1 minute monologue but as usual there are my observations of the world around me - including the sunrise, storm clouds, Boo ants, a snake skin and snake holes and the birdies. It is my intention that the many different sounds in this walkalogue provide you with a full immersion in the world of sound and an opportunity to start cultivating awareness !

Hey folks, this is the monologue I stuffed up a while back. Sorry for the delay.
In this walky talky, I explore the concept of shamanism in ordinary life, as opposed to shamanism in traditional indigenous life or plastic shamanism. This view of shamanism might differ from others that you're familiar with but I think you see that it overlaps with some of the ideas inherent in traditional shamanism, except that I've given them a modern twist - without the need for entheogens, pain, music, ritual or rights of passage experiences. I do however talk a little about some initiatory experiences (including a few of my own) and the purpose behind some of these. I also explore the relationship of dreams to shamanism and dream symbolism and describe a simple method for interpreting dream symbols and for interacting with the external world through symbols that we can see in our minds.
Don't listen to this if you're after a comprehensive overview of shamanism. The purpose of this monologue is merely to highlight that it is possible to integrate a shamanic world view and shamanic type methods into the experiences of ordinary life. This is really just a very basic primer in working with mind and body as an interface between inner and outer worlds, to demonstrate that there really only is one indivisible whole. Kosmos.
In previous monologues I've suggested that real spiritual development has nothing to do developing super powers or transcending the body and everything to do cultivating awareness of mind and body and living fully within the body. In today's walk and talk, I explore some of the same ground I explored in TSM 108 - suggesting how we might move through our senses deep into the body and integrate all that arises into our awareness and in so doing, deepen the well of experience.

In today's stroll through the land, I explore the process that some have called Direct Knowing. There are several interpretations of this concept and in this monologue I explore what you might think of as a lower level form of DK, that I believe has greater value to us in our ordinary life. I provide you with working examples of how to develop DK through all the senses and then through the collective 5 senses.

In this monologue I attempt to lead you through a discussion about the nature of thought - touching on such subjects as simple and discursive thought, thought forms, process fields, thought and the 5 senses, memory, emotional feelings, felt sense in the body, beliefs, values and action. This is probably a monologue worth doing again under quiet conditions, with a more detailed exploration of the link between thoughts, ideas, projection and reactivity - which I didn't really touch on in this monologue.
This monologue sketches out the way that the human mind works - weaving thoughts out of silence and how thought can take us out of the present moment.
